I often define my approach as "time to learn something new".
About
Hey there, nice to meet ya. My name is Herald, though some call me James.
I'm the artist behind the pokemon askblog atypicalparameters, as well as liking to think of myself as something of an artist in general.When not drawing, I sometimes write some stories about my OCs, but more often find myself dabbling in video games. My poisons of choice are Destiny, Guild Wars 2, Pokemon, and Warframe, though I won't say no to a bit of Minecraft or Elder Scrolls Online.I've been known to be a bit skittish, but I'm always open to try and make new friends. Poke around, send me an ask...I promise I don't bite.While not the most advertised, I do offer commissions!

A Halfsheet is just one pose, a small blurb of info and color swatch is optional.Art Only would be one pose and a portrait, with no info but the swatch is still optional.A Fullsheet would be two poses, front and back unless otherwise asked, with whatever info you'd like added, a panel of expressions, and a color swatch.Additional poses can be added to Art Only and Fullsheet for $50 a pose.
Additional portrait/headshots can be added to any of the options for $25 a portrait.
"Standard" Artwork

All options are full body, though I am open to discussion if you'd prefer a bust or half-body.Flat Color will always have a transparent background, and can have a white outer outline on request.Simple Shading can have either a transparent background or a simple background, such as some shapes or some sort of texture.Painted will always have a simple background of some sort of texture.An exception to the above is if you're looking for some sort of starfield/space background. I'm always delighted to add those to anything, all you need to do is ask.

Currently OpenThis option isn't always open even if my commissions are. It's something of an experimental option, if you're interested in getting something from me that will likely be used as a means for me to learn something new, or practice infrequently used techniques.Multicharacter and Landscape will always have a detailed background.Multicharacter comes with two characters by default, the additional cost doesn't apply until the 3rd character.Landscape's focus is on the environment, with the character interacting with it in some way.Portrait comes as a bust/half-body, and isn't limited to just human characters.

Rules
The prices listed on the Pricing page are made with the assumption that your request is of a single character. There are a few things which can change the estimated price, such as:
Number of characters in the piece
Complexity of the characters, be it overall design or armor or more complex mechanics
Other additions, such as pets or props
When making a request, please include all pertinent reference material -
There is no such thing as "too much" material!!All requests will be responded to with a full quote for the piece, including any price-adjusting additions or subtractions. Should the quote turn out to be outside of your budget, I'm more than happy to discuss options to bring it in line, while still providing something you can be pleased with.
Remember, as happy as I am to fulfill the ideas you have rattling around in your mind, never spend beyond your means! Take care of yourself first, I'll always be here with my tablet later.

I reserve the right to reject a commission for any reason.
Payment
All payment will be made through Paypal invoices.
For Icons and "Standard" Artwork, I request the full payment up front before work begins.
For Refsheets and Full Illustrations, I request half the payment up front, and the rest upon approval of the sketch.
